John Moreton is a native of the Greater Boston area, having grown up in Weston. He graduated from the University of Denver with a BA in liberal arts and received an MBA from Babson College with a concentration in marketing.
In 1999, John founded Consumer Insight Associates, a marketing-driven management consulting practice which provides creative problem solving, strategy and research services to clients – from start-ups to corporations with established, global brands – in a broad array of industries. His firm also works directly with some of the nation’s leading advertising agencies.
Prior to founding Consumer Insight Associates, John spent nearly fifteen years at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. Initially, he managed Ocean Spray's primary product line, cranberry juice drinks and then, for more than twelve years, was responsible for all of Ocean Spray's new product development, marketing strategy and advertising activities. In addition, John oversaw new product-driven joint ventures with Pepsi Cola and Warner-Lambert.
John has spoken to numerous industry and academic audiences on a range of marketing-related topics and has contributed to, or been featured in the media including the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Business Week, CBS News and NPR.
In 1990, John was invited to become a charter member of the Lotus Development Corporation's Board of Marketing Fellows, an advisory council to Lotus management. In 2000, he became a member of of the Board of Advisors of Butler Home Products, Inc. and in 2002 was asked to join the National Advisory Council of the Visiting Nurse Associations of America.
Prior to joining Ocean Spray, John spent eight years in advertising account management positions at BBDO in Boston and New York, and Campbell-Mithun in Minneapolis.
